Last month I drove up to Philadelphia for a night to visit Shruthi. The Shruthinator is doing her post-doc at U Penn where she'll be continuing her research on HIV and tuberculosis. She'll be spending half her time in Philly and half in Botswana. She just left on Saturday and I miss her already!
Girls night out in Philly!Shruthi moved in temporarily with our friends Paul and Evi (also from Hopkins, but their lab moved to U Penn), so it was super fun to see them too! It was fun to have a girls night out. Shruthi, Evi, and I drank wine, ate Thai, and danced the night away. The next day we enjoyed delicious breakfast at Sabrina's, wandered around the Italian Market, and picked up a cheesesteak from Pat's (not Genos!) to bring back to Mark.
Mmmmm French toastWhen ordering a cheesesteak, you must adhere to the rules or you could be thrown out of line!
- Know what you want to order before you get to the register
- When ordering say the type of cheese you want first and if you want onions or not
- E.g. "wiz, wit" - cheese wiz, with onions
- Have your money ready
