Skiing in Colorado

Mark and I flew out to Colorado last week for some skiing in the Rockies. He was heading out that way for a conference (Keystone Symposium: "The Many Faces of Ubiquitin"), and since it was my birthday weekend I thought I best tag along!

We flew into Colorado Springs on Thursday, where Mark's uncle Keith and aunt Tina live. The four of us (+ Liberty, their golden retriever pup) headed out to the mountains Friday and skied at beautiful Breckenridge. Then we headed west to where we were staying in Eagle, CO. Fortunately our cabin had a big flat screen TV with DVR, so we were able to watch the Ravens beat the Titans to move on the the AFC championship tomorrow - GO RAVENS!

On Saturday morning we drove to Vail and skied a LOT. The snow and runs were endless - I have never seen so much powder! It was amazing. Sunday we packed up and drove back into Vail and Beaver Creek for some sightseeing and lunch. Then it was back east to Copper Mountain to drop Mark off for the week, and back to Baltimore for me.

Thanks to Keith and Tina for a wonderful weekend! We can't wait to come back :) Hope everyone has a great weekend - and hope all the Minnesotans are staying warm in the -30 degree temps!
