Wedding season

September is a fabulous month for weddings! This September we watched two more wonderful couples tie the knot: Tim & Katie and Matt & Sarah. Mark was honored to be a groomsman in both weddings.

Tim is one of Mark's hockey buddies and is also one of the very first people Mark met after moving to Baltimore back in 2004. They started out playing roller hockey and eventually moved onto the ice, where Tim defends the goal and makes sure no one scores against the Blueliners! Tim was also on our broomball team, and we've gone to many a country music concert together. He is a kind and generous friend, and we were so happy when he found Katie through some of their mutual friends. The two of them hit it off right away and Katie, being the lovely person she is, instantly joined our circle. It's such a great feeling to see your friends so happy together and watch them get married! Their wedding was on 9/11/10 in Towson, MD, and it was a beautiful day. I loved how they incorporated "September 11th (2001)" into the prayers during their ceremony. 9/11 will rightfully always stir up memories of a sad time in our country's history, but I think it's also important that this day hold happy new memories like Katie & Tim's wedding. We wish them many happy days together :o)

Also married this month were our good friends Matt ("Tater") and Sarah. Mark and Tater were roomies and fellow Park Scholars at NCSU. Tater was a groomsman in our wedding almost two years ago, and Mark really enjoyed being part of Matt's recent wedding festivities. Those boys have lots of fun memories I'm sure, but I'll leave those for Mark to share IF he ever decides to contribute a blog post! Just know that they have been great friends since they were wee little freshmen in college and have maintained a solid friendship even after moving in new directions after graduation. Tater went off to law school at UNC and began long-distance dating Sarah, who he had met during a summer internship. When we finally met this lovely lady, we immediately took a likin' to her. After spending time with the two of them skiing up in Vermont and visiting them where they now live in Charlotte, we knew they were a great match. We were ecstatic to join them on their big day on 9/18/10 down in Pawley's Island, SC. Best wishes to you two ... we hope to get down to Charlotte again sometime soon to hang out :o)

I couldn't resist stealing this photo of Sarah & Matt from their photographer's website. Simply gorgeous!

Congratulations also to all of our other recently married friends whose weddings we sadly were not able to attend: Kristen & Cliff in NJ and Matt & Becca in SC (5/15/10), Molly & Dave (5/22/10 in MN), Ben & Lisa (7/16/10 in MN), and Katie & Viraj (upcoming 10/31/10 on a cruise ship the Caribbean)!!!

That's the end of this year's wedding season for us. Looking forward to more vows & wows next year!
