It's been a little crazy this summer... time to put up a few pics from the last couple of weeks!!
I had the opportunity to travel to Toronto on 7/22 for a work meeting. I arrived early enough that I had time to walk around the city a little. It felt pretty much like being in the US, except that everything was written in French in addition to English. I noticed more recycling - yay! (except the cans were overflowing due to a garbage strike) and more young people smoking - boo. I never even had to exchange currency... hallelujah for credit cards. The US dollar isn't what it used to be... only $1.10 Canadian for one buckaroo. I saw the Hockey Hall of Fame, but didn't tour it; hoping Mark will get to come with next time so we can see it together.

After I returned, Mark and I dolled ourselves up and headed down to Annapolis, MD for the wedding of our friends Mike and Jen at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, right on the beach. It was a beautiful night and a great crowd - lots of our friends from Hopkins, kickball, etc.
The day following the wedding, we carpooled and made the trek down to Nissan Pavilion again - this time to see Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley (same place in VA where we saw Rascal Flatts in June). We had a crew of 8, and our uber-prepared friend Tim brought the grill and a big tent to shade everyone. As we happily gobbled down burgers and dogs and sipped beers (or Captain Morgan for me), we began to notice the dark clouds approaching. The tent was no match for the torrential rains, and we quickly packed everything up and threw it into cars. Half of us waited out the storm inside our cars, while the other crazy half (Mark included), played in the rain and had to stand through the concert soaking wet! Brad put on a fun show and there was plenty of additional entertainment watching everyone slip and fall in the mud!
